My Story
My approach to therapy is collaborative and integrative, guided by CBT, DBT, mindfulness, psychodynamics, play therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and art expression. Integrating client-centered play therapy and a creative art approach in the session will help the client feel more at ease and comfortable sharing their experiences with me. I am fluent in Mandarin and English and have a strong knowledge of Chinese culture. I was born and raised in NYC, and went back to China for five years to study the culture and language.
I have experience working with younger children, adolescents, young adults, families, and adult populations across various settings, including an outpatient community mental health clinic, private practice, and college counseling office. I have experience in treating a wide range of psychological struggles, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), adjustment disorders, grief, self-image, stress management, developmental challenges, and Asian American immigration/identity.
